DCM: Beanie

Somewhere down the line, though, she found her worth in a boy. Well, a man, more or less. He was twenty, she was sixteen. Somewhere between a talk about masochism and analyzing the themes of a gore flick, they clicked and he invited her to come out with him and some friends to a slasher game. It was basically hide and seek with a weapon. One person was the killer and given a fake weapon of some sort, and everyone else were the ridiculously inept teenagers who had to survive for an hour in the dark. This was where Beanie really shined, she would say. Every time she played killer, she'd find everyone. Every time she played victim, she would somehow hole herself up to the last minute and take the victory. Even against her boyfriend. Well, one night, it didn't end like she'd hoped.

After a particularly heated argument with her boyfriend over their relationship, Beanie found herself playing victim and her boyfriend playing the killer. He got everyone, and was waiting for the perfect moment to surprise her. She had picked the perfect hiding spot: a little spot under a footbridge by a creek in the park. To get back at him for their argument, she had planned on scaring him when he found her. The second she did, however, he was so shocked that he hit her in the head with a baseball bat, effectively killing her. Not wanting to get in trouble, her boyfriend and his friends threw her body into the creek and scrammed.

Beanie woke up to the bad news that she was one) dead; two) in heaven; and three) that her boyfriend was the one that did her in and by all means left her for dead. She was angry, bitter, and unaccepting of heaven from the moment that they put her there. All she wanted was revenge, revenge, revenge. No matter where she was put, she picked fights and blamed other angels for her terrible mood and never sought any help, claiming she'd never come to peace until her ex got what he deserved. She was kicked back down to Earth so she could take her anger out in a more productive way for both her and everyone around her.

Now placed with a sweet clergywoman named Cloche in a Catholic church by a private school, Beanie tries to reintegrate into the world and be the teenager she never really got to be. She found out that she was actually pretty good at cooking and kind of likes the non-violent interaction with people who aren't obsessed with murder. Sure, she's still a thrill-seeker, but she's working out the kinks.
